Metformin Hydrochloride (PR) & Glimepiride Tablets I.P

These medicines are used for curing type 2 diabetes. They contain more than one thing in them. Metformin hydrochloride is an oral antidiabetic drug that works by decreasing the production of glucose in the liver and improving the body's response to insulin. This medicine belongs to a group of drugs called biguanides.

Glimepiride is also an oral antidiabetic medication that belongs to the class of drugs known as sulfonylureas. It helps to lower blood sugar levels by stimulating the release of insulin from the pancreas and increasing the sensitivity of peripheral tissues to insulin.

The combination of metformin hydrochloride and glimepiride is often prescribed when blood sugar control cannot be achieved with either medication alone. By combining these two medications, they can work together to improve glycemic control and help manage blood sugar levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes.
